Confession Time: I Have A Problem

Hello. My name is Amber and I have a problem. I can't seem to stop myself from buying Barbie toys for my 5-year-old.

It started as a gift for Christmas. A friend's daughter had outgrown her Barbie toys. This became a treasure trove of gifts including a house, the car, and pet mobile, along with all the house furniture and an outdoor swimming pool. It was a sweet deal that also seemed to open the pandora's box of revisiting my childhood.

I also purchased six Barbie dolls (2 men and 4 women--I'm a clearance/sale junkie so these were the best deals!). I felt like the coolest mom ever to be able to create an entire Barbie world for my girl.

Fast forward almost four months since Christmas, and we've expanded our Barbie empire with a Chelsea doll, another dude, two bridal and groom outfits, summer wear, sport wear, ball gown wear, and even an RV camper. A quarter of my girl's room is now a Barbie universe.

I wish I could tell you that I've stopped, but that's not the case. As noted, I love a good deal, and I recently snagged two Skipper Babysitter dolls on clearance. They are currently chilling in a birthday bag at the top of my office closet. I also wish I could say I'm saving them for her birthday in the Fall, but let's be real, they'll be in her hands way before then!

And here's my other confession. I'm having so much fun playing Barbies again. We've hosted dual weddings, gone camping, swimming, and learned how to fish from the two Barbie boats we have also accumulated in our Barbie investment.

I've become a Barbie brand expert over the last few months. I've learned so much. The dolls are a bargain, but the clothes? They're like designer wear! Besides the bridal and groom outfits, all other doll clothes are from unknown Amazon vendors.

Just this weekend, I went on another clearance/sale safari online for more Barbie treasures. My Walmart and Amazon carts are brimming with doll clothes and Barbies, just waiting for me to hit 'buy'.

It's safe to say I might have a Barbie addiction. It's also safe to say I'm not quitting anytime soon!

Here's to reliving my childhood one doll at a time and hoping my daughter remembers all the epic Barbie adventures with her mom!
